When my number one niece's birthday came round it was not really surprising that a request for frozen cupcakes was forthcoming. Blue and white swirly icing not a problem. Vanilla sponge easy. Crowns and snowflakes, ok. Olaf? Hmmm.
Here is a quick photo tutorial for my Olaf cake toppers. Not perfect replicas but if a child is a critical audience, well these passed muster with our critics!
Divide royal icing |
roll into cylinders and a head shape |
Using a smile shaped tool, press a mouth and use the back to indent where the eyes will go. |
stick feet together with edible glue |
top with the body |
then the torso and the head |

lay down for the glue to dry |

I had some black pearls left from halloween, and some orange sugar chips for the nose |

the eyes are edible ink pen and the arms are flower stamens made for sugar flowers |
